Nagarjuna Sagar Dam Trip :
I still remember, it was September 2011 we came to know that Nagarjuna Sagar Dam Doors were Opened due heavy inflow of water. On the same day evening we have decided to visit the place, as it was a weekend we plan to start on Saturday morning and want to have fun for two days. we a gang of eight members gathered in my residence at Begumpet, Hyderabad and started in the morning at 6 AM moved via uppal, connected to NagarjunaSagar Highway. Its a long drive traveled about 175 KM in just 3 hrs, by 9 AM we were in front of the Dam Doors on bridge, the view below the bridge look like milk colored water is passing below the bridge.
It’s really a great experience to see such big dam with opened doors, we made plenty of group snaps, family snaps, friends chill-out snaps… 🙂
Later we moved to boat trip from there to an island in Nagarjunakonda valley in between mountains. It took more than one hour for us to reach the place with lovely boat experiences. Nagarjunakonda is a historical Buddhist place, here are some monuments and a museum of Buddha. The museum has a collection of limestones of a Buddha temple belonged to 2nd century. Its a must see place with Buddha Statues, Temple, collection of all the things.
Ethipothala Waterfalls Trip :
By 5 PM reached Ethipothala Waterfalls which is situated 15 KM away from Nagarjuna Sagar dam. The waterfalls might be 60 feet height from ground (in Telugu, ettipotala means “lift and pour”). It is not possible and not safe to reach nearer to the falls since it is a crocodile breeding center. Then we moved to downstream where the running water passes, there was a huge crowd at that place. We had fun time in the floating water even few people had bath.
We have booked rooms over there in AP Tourism cottages (Haritha Hotel) and stayed a night. We had great party night with late night gossips, anthachari, dumb shell arts game and more.
The view around 8 PM to 9 PM was a great experience with colorful lights decorating the fall come to life and give an astonishing view of the spellbinding beauty of the cascade and its surroundings.
The feeling was absolutely exhilarating!
